blah

I haven't been able to record any games since I lost the software after the format again. I haven't been playing much anyways since I got sick after getting over being sick. First time I remember that happening to me.

I have been working on my game outside of playing a lot though and feel like my heads up sitngo game has improved recently so I plan to put my skills to work soon and go back to the grind. I might start off slow to not burn myself out and have a goal of 10 games or something small per day. I also have been practicing 2 tabling the 6 dollar turbos (rake is better than 2 dollars' rake) so I might start 2 tabling if I feel comfortable enough which I do so far.

Domino's is almost here. Hand tossed Hawaiian pizza and a crunchy thin crust white sauce chicken pizza. Can't wait.

I will try to remember to download a screen recorder to post a video soon. See ya

virus :(

My PC was infected with a nasty trojan last night. Only real way to get rid of it is to format so that's what I have been doing all day. It's like my 4th time formatting in a year. It's such a hassle.

At least I'm not sick anymore. Finally feeling better so I SHOULD start playing poker again. It's just difficult getting into the mindset after taking a break. Should go watch some poker videos or something.

no more video of the days

lol so obviously that won't work. I'll still make random videos but I wont be able to make one every day.

I actually haven't played since last video since I've been feeling sick. I plan on crushing the 30s as fast as I did first time and moving up to 50s again once I get back on.

Video of the Day #1: $33 vs Pooch1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHDcisUl42Q
any comments are welcome :D

interesting hands:
hand #2 AQo on 334hh flop: I used to raise 4-5x vs limps but lately I have been more comfortable playing with a 3x raise, I don't think they react to the sizing enough for it to matter. The flop brings me some backdoor draws and overs and this is a type of flop I like to play slow on vs unknowns in the beginning before I get better reads. If I suspect him of folding to cbets enough I will be betting here and if I think he's passive/stationy I will check fold. Most players at these stakes are passive so I go for the check fold for my standard.

hand #12 KK on 377hh flop: Sticking to my 3x raise vs limps even with monsters like this. On the flop I used to always cbet my entire range but lately I have been mixing checking/checking back in these types of spots sometimes. I figured he can't have much on this flop and I'm only getting value from ace high and 4x and those hands are never giving me 3 streets of value so I figured slow playing/pot controlling here is good. Now that he checked the turn I think I can get value from ace high and 4x with at least 1 street and that's what happened since the board ran out well for me. If I had a smaller pair where there's more turn cards I don't want to give him for free I tend to value bet it almost every time vs unknowns.

hand #13 J8o on 92Jss flop: Misplayed this hand imo. When an unknown donks I put them on a weak range. I felt my range was ahead of his but not strong enough to raise for value without better reads. The flat is standard on the flop but when he almost instantly checks the king of spades he almost always has a weak pair. Most of these weak pairs are going to have flush draws and straight draws with it so I definitely need to bet for value here, imo. After checking the turn it's a pretty easy check on the river. If I bet for value on the turn I will also be checking obviously.. and would be in a tough spot if he donks.. pretty sure it's a fold regardless of the sizing? (obviously not to a minbet)

hand #20 T2o on T86hh flop: Another misplayed hand. I really don't know what I was thinking I almost always stab this flop, there's just so many hands to get value from. Same thing with the turn.

hand #22 A3s on 74Ass flop: Preflop is actually closer than you'd think for me. It's at the bottom of my calling range so I usually turn it into a 3bet bluff for some reads in the beginning. I honestly don't know why I didn't decide to do that here but calling is obviously fine against someone raising their button enough which this guy was. Flop is standard and the turn I think is standard too since he's going to bet a pair of kings and usually his flush draws. I could check raise the turn but I think that's just overplaying my hand and I want to snap off a bluff or value bet against a king when he checks to me. He can also value bet his king himself which he did.

hand #32 67o on TT8o flop: It's hard to tell in the video (I'll try to fix that for the next ones) but I 3bet him from his standard 3x raise of 60 to 160 not 180 cbet was also 160. If you would like to discuss the betsizes let me know since there's a lot to talk about with that. I've been trying to find a hand to 3bet this guy all game as u saw me thinking about 3betting the pair of sixes a few hands before this. This is not a hand I usually 3bet oop but I felt like I had enough FE since I didn't 3bet all game and I wanted to get some reads before blinds get too high. Having him fold quickly to that flop gave me the read that he calls too wide to 3bets and didn't think about bluffing

hand #33 J8o on QJ4ccc flop: Man I didn't realize how many hands I misplayed until reviewing it. I guess that's the reason for these videos. Ok so this guy has been 3betting me around 20 percent so far which is a pretty decent amount and I should start thinking of defending of 4bet shoving lighter. That was my thought process and I didn't feel like 4bet bluffing with J8o I decided to call. I think it's a little too light to defend though.. folding > shoving > calling imo. if he was 3betting even more then it would probably be shoving > calling > folding for me. Although I hit a pair on the flop I have no idea about his 3bet cbetting range and since his normal cbetting frequency is pretty low so far I should have assumed it was on the stronger side and just folded. But since I decided to call the flop I felt like I couldn't give up after hitting a pair. THAT's why I should fold preflop. After watching the video I think I should have called the turn. At the time my reasoning was he shoved too quickly to have bluff/draw but he did take a few more seconds than I remembered. This was definitely my worst hand played in awhile.

hand #35 AA winning hand: So I know he has been 3betting me wide and I have no 4betting dynamic going on at all so I think it's a pretty clear call preflop. Since he bet pretty big last 3bet pot I'm hoping he will do that again. The flop was as gross as they get with AA but I didn't care obviously.. I meant to raise him all in, took my time to not look as strong.

videos?

Still not into the poker grind again just yet but I decided to start recording my games and posting random videos on this blog starting tomorrow, I think. They will probably be 1 or 2 table HUSNGs at the $33s and hopefully higher when I move up again. I'm doing this for multiple reasons. The main ones being for me to put more volume in and to better analyze my game.

I probably wont be playing much tonight but I will start recording games tomorrow around 4pm and post one randomly here in the evening.

Trying to get Staked

I uploaded my sharkscope graph to advertise for a stake for higher games. A few people interested in staking have seen my request and have not replied so I don't think it's going to happen. Oh well, back to the grind

Dead Space 2

Just got Dead Space 2, might not play as much poker as I'd like this week :D

I'll probably get bored with it like every other single player game I have tried in the past few years... we'll see.

Yawn

I probably played the longest session in the morning/afternoon today than I have in awhile. I decided to change up the games I'm playing once again and I think this one's the best. I'm 1 tabling a 50nl 4max (25nl antes/deep if no ones playing 50nl in the morning) and 1 table HUSNGS $30-$100s. I think I put in a ton of volume this way and it keeps me interested and focused more than playing only one of those games.

My first 3 games in the husngs was against this loose aggro reg that ran like god and I lost all 3 of them. I then won a lil in 50nl 4max and won about 3 sngs since then so I'm actually up a little for the day after starting off stuck 100ish.

Time for a break

Today So Far...

ugh. I have been single tabling 50nl 4max tables for an hour or two today and these are my big (losing) hands so far:

standard but tilting:

I like my bluff, such a horrible line by him:

so far i'm down a couple buyins.. hopefully it'll turn around later. laundry time!

 i lol'd at this showdown

I've been losing a bunch at 50nl but these 2 hands saved me. Hard to lose my confidence playing these guys :)

Another Graph

It seems like the last graph I posted had a bunch of heads up hands in it also. I filtered through the hands and made a graph of all hands with 3 or 4 players only since I started and here it is:

 (click)

I used big blinds since there's a bunch of 2nl hands in there also and it looks weird in winnings. Seems like I'm running pretty terrible as usual but at least I'm still in the black. My red line seems to be crushing also :D

Still a small sample size so I plan on putting in a bunch of volume 2 tabling 25nl-100nl real soon

I'm Such a Nit

My plan today was to grind 50nl 4max ...buuut, I basically hit and ran a few tables to start off 50nl with a win booked :\

The good news is I won back my losses from last night which was the ultimate goal, I guess..

zzzzzzz

played the longest session and lost the most. weee.
135.4 minutes, 475 hands, and -$87.63 later I'm going to bed.
poker sucks.

Just a Couple Hands

Started to 2 table 25nl tonight and didn't play my best but I ended up winning a little so whatever. Here's a couple hands if you're interested:

And this guy must have been
fed up with my 100% button raises.
no respect :)

Double Tabling 4max

I finally started 2 tabling the 25nl 4max tables today and got some decent volume in (for me). Played about 2 sessions and a mini one before dinner earlier and was able to play 685 hands. The first 385 I lost a couple buyins running into a bunch of huge hands but then I played for another couple of hours and won. Today I'm up almost $25.. woot.

I have to admit I played the last 100 hands or maybe less single tabling a deep 4max table because my friend Tim aka DaHang decided to play and I wanted to focus for those two reasons :)

Overall it was enjoyable to play and the variance isn't as frustrating as single tabling at times it seems. And I only have to play a few more sessions like today's before I got 2000 hands 2tabling in so I can move up to 50nl.

Last Single Table Session!

...and I lost 2 buyins :(

I played 955 hands single tabling 25nl 4max tables and took down a little over FIVE WHOLE BUYINS! I'm happy bout it, ran well in beginning and horrible at the end (why I didn't feel like playing the last 45 hands) which is a nice change imo.

Tomorrow I should start 2 tabling 25nl 4max for 2k hands and if I'm as comfortable with the game as I am now I'll move up and crush 50nl so I can move up again and grind 100nl. So.. 2 tabling 100nl 4max is my goal.

Here's My Graph

I have played 691 out of my planned 1000 hands of single tabling the 25nl 4max tables and it has been going pretty smooth. After I play 1000 hands I'm going to see how well I do 2 tabling the 4max tables. I'm used to 2 tabling heads up so I'm sure it won't be a problem but the 1000 hands is to adjust to the new game.

here's another funny hand from earlier today:

72s ftw

asdf

even when running well hands like these still happen :(

Changed My Mind...

I recently tried grinding the $50-$80 husngs but because of the lack of action I was getting I have been thinking of switching to yet another game.

A couple days ago my Uncle Paul visited and brought Christmas gifts! He gave me a very good poker book, Harrington on Online Cash Games. It's focused on 6max NL Holdem cash games. So I figured it was a good enough sign and started playing 6max games at .10/.25

I started crushing these limits with a huge (unsustainable) winrate over a few hundred hands. I was obviously running well but I think my postflop edge against these players is pretty big also.

Even running well I wasn't winning as much as I wanted so I looked at 50nl. Most of the action is drawn to the bad beat jackpot tables they have at these limits so I'm hesitant to start grinding the few non jackpot tables. Instead I saw the 4max tables I almost forgot about. I checked and there are no jackpot tables for these types of games so the action is packed into a few number of tables.

Sooo... I have been practicing at the .10/.25 4-max tables (single tabling) and I plan on playing a thousand or two before I add another table so I can start multitable these and then move up to 50nl and 100nl when I get better and hopefully a bigger bankroll.

Oh, here's a taste of how juicy the games are so far :)

zzz

horribly slow day for poker. i was sitting at the 50s for about an hour and only had one person sit me and ended up sucking out vs my two pair with his 2nd pair. i'm taking a break and will try to play more around 6pm when hopefully the action is better.

Back to the Grind

I'm actually feeling excited about grinding the $50+ husngs again after trying out hucash last year. I woke up later than I wanted so I missed out on bonus points in cereus at 1pm-4pm (i think) so I'll try to start playing during those bonus hours in the future.

My session didn't start off too well. I decided to play 2 tables of $20s to warm up and actually sat nerdrage who is a poster on 2p2. It was a quick game where I got it in with a better flush draw than his OESD+FD combo draw but he binked his straight even tho I had a blocker to it :( I then started sitting the 50s and someone named misdaisy or something started sitting me and godmoding me. we ended up playing 6 games and she/he won 5. He was a little spewy but difficult to play against when I couldn't catch any cards. Def good practice. I then won my other 3 $50s against a reg and rec player (i assume). 1-1 in the $20s, and 4-5 in $50s.

Time for a break, hopefully my stamina improves I need to play more than 9 games a session :)

New Year, New Look

Happy New Year! Changed the blog around a bit to look nicer imo.

Starting Monday I'm planning on putting in a ton of volume. I hope to play mostly $50 reg speeds through the $80s. I have been slacking in poker for the past few months just playing for fun mostly but now it's time to work. :)
